Blue Expands With New Company Formation

Blue Machinery Plc has formed a new company as part of a planned expansion programme. Blue Machinery (Advanced Technology) Limited (BMAT) is to concentrate on distributing state-of-the-art separation, baling and shredding equipment and other high technology recycling machinery, specifically targeting large waste processing groups, independents, municipal waste management, MRF operators, converters and the packaging industry.

The new company has started with two world-class distributorships - Pellenc and Préciméca - and already reports sales successes throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Pellenc Sorting Technology is the leading European manufacturer of a comprehensive range of high technology detection and separation machines that are capable of analysing, recognising, separating and ejecting selected recyclables from mixed waste. Préciméca designs and manufactures a large programme of specialist tyre and co-mingled waste shredding machines.

BMAT can now announce the latest product group to be added to their portfolio. This is the successful range of horizontal two-ram, closed- and open-ended channel balers manufactured by Marathon Equipment of America - already well-established in European markets as robust, productive and reliable machines for the baling of board, paper, plastics, light alloys and solid waste.

Blue Machinery Plc chairman, Pat McGeary, commented “We formalised our agreement with Pellenc at the RWM show last September and we have been Préciméca distributors for some time now. These two product groups and our new Marathon baler range have taken us into new fields and, with the continuing development of advanced technologies now available to the recycler, we recognised the need to focus on waste materials treatment and separation techniques that serve somewhat different markets from the ones we supply with our core distributorships for Doppstadt, Powerscreen, TEREX Pegson, Backhus and so-on. By forming Blue Machinery Advanced Technologies, we are deliberately creating a separate identity in keeping with both the products we distribute and the diverse markets we are targeting. With Blue Machinery companies already established covering England, Scotland and Wales,” he continues, “we can hit the ground running with BMAT and, of course, our sister company within the group, Spares UK, is already geared up to provide the best possible after sales product support with spares stockholdings and rapid response parts availability. We are starting out with three exciting ranges, but it doesn't end there” says Mr McGeary. “Blue Machinery Advanced Technology is actively seeking other compatible waste treatment products to complement the existing ranges and increase the options available to our growing customer base”.

Blue Machinery Advanced Technology is headed by Managing Director Steve Almond, who is well-known in the British waste management industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the new company.
